<p>Accomplished Georgian-American designer Patuna Bushyhead will show her latest ethereal designs at <a href="http://www.CoutureFashionWeek.com" target="_blank">Couture Fashion Week</a> at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday February 18, 2012. Marking the designer&#8217;s first appearance at CFW, the fashion show will be held in the legendary Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria on Park Avenue, New York City. It will be opened with a performance by singer Nini Shermadini, fresh from her recent appearance on Greece&#8217;s &#8220;X Factor.&#8221;</p>
<p>A native of the Republic of Georgia, now a U.S. citizen, Patuna Bushyhead spent her childhood studying and performing ballet, acting, folkloric dance, classical piano, painting, and pantomime. As a teenager she served as host of two nationally broadcast TV programs in Georgia. At age 16 she entered the Tbilisi State Institute to study gynecology, and later switched her field of study to dentistry, graduating top of her class as a doctor of dental surgery. After working in a private dental practice, she met her American husband and they spent the next few years traveling the world including the USA, Mexico Western Europe, Russia, and the UAE, among other destinations. In 2008, Ms. Bushyhead made a career change from dentistry to her real passion: fashion. She is currently the owner and director of Patuna Fashion House.</p>
<p>In recent years, Ms. Bushyhead studied sketching with a professional tutor on anatomy, dress/shoe design and portraiture, and earned a degree in fashion merchandising and design, sewing/dressmaking and cosmetology/esthetics. Using her own technique of applying Swarovski crystals to her designs, Ms. Bushyhead created a dress for a fashion show in Georgia themed: &#8220;Beauty will survive the world.&#8221; She applied over 2,000 Swarovski stones by hand depicting the map of Georgia and the phrase &#8220;I love my Georgia!&#8221; The flowing dress represents the Georgian National Grape Tree.</p>
<p>Ms. Bushyhead designed a line of baby clothes which was presented in a nationally televised fashion show, as well as swimsuits for all contestants in the famous &#8220;Elite Model Look&#8221; competition. She designed the cocktail dress worn by Miss Georgia in the Miss World 2009 pageant held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Ms. Bushyhead was a judge in the Miss Georgia 2009 pageant, as well as designing the swimsuits worn by the contestants. She served as costume designer for a major motion picture in Tbilisi, and also made an appearance in the movie as an actress playing a Georgian designer.</p>
<p>In December 2010 Ms. Bushyhead was honored as Georgian National Television&#8217;s &#8220;Extraordinary Guest of the Year&#8221;, and was named one of the Georgia&#8217;s top 20 successful women in a nationally televised event.</p>

<p>Social Media spielt heutzutage für fast alle Unternehmen im Marketing und in der Kommunikation eine große Rolle. Facebook, Twitter und Co. erfreuen sich großer Beliebtheit. Wie die an der Fashion Week beteiligten Designer im Bereich Social Media aufgestellt sind, zeigt nun ein Ranking, das die Modecommunity styleranking erstellt hat. Hierzu wurden mehr als 50 Profile und Auftritte analysiert und ausgewertet. Das Ergebnis: Nur wenige können eine relevante Fangemeinde aufbieten.</p>
<p>Dabei eignet sich insbesondere Facebook ausgezeichnet zur Kundenpflege. Während internationale Unternehmen wie Hugo Boss mit über 800.000 Fans bei Facebook vertreten sind, kommen aufstrebende Designer auf etwas über 10.000 Fans. Positive Beispiele gibt es: Rockabilly-Designerin Lena Hoschek etwa gelingt es, auch im Bereich Social Media ihre Anhängerschaft zu unterhalten – das trifft auch auf Designer wie Wood Wood, Kilian Kerner oder Lala Berlin zu.</p>
<p>Mehr als ein Drittel der Fashion Week-Designer verfügen allerdings über weniger als 500 Fans bei Facebook. Im Schnitt weisen die Designer-Facebookseiten rund 1300 Fans aus. Nur sehr wenige kommunizieren hingegen auch regelmäßig über Twitter.</p>
<p>Dabei schlummert hier großes Potenzial zur Kundenpflege und Kundenakquise: „Für Designer ist Social Media nicht nur eine enorme Ressource für die tägliche Inspiration, sondern auch ein effizient zu nutzender Marketingkanal“, sagt etwa Social Media Experte Nico Lumma, Chief Operating Officer bei Digital Pioneers, im Gespräch mit styleranking.</p>

<p>Fans of Rare Fashion clothing should head straight for the retailer’s online shop, where they will find a massive January sale with up to 70 per cent off some of its hottest fashion items of the season.</p>
<p>Rare’s January sale includes everything from <a href="http://www.rarefashion.co.uk/clothing/dresses/party-dresses.html" target="_blank">party dresses</a> to playsuits and makes for the ideal opportunity to save pounds on the overall price of some of the retailer’s most popular items. The sale will only run for a limited time though, so those that are interested in bagging a few bargains should act now before stocks run out.</p>
<p>In total, there are just less than 400 items of women&#8217;s clothing included in the sale, available in sizes six to 16. There are many items available for less than £10 and a lot of the clothes are available in a range of colours, so customers will still be able to pick the best style for them.</p>
<p>A fair few items from Rare’s stunning brand ‘Opulence’ are also on sale right now, with up to 60 per cent off, and customers will also find some clothes from guest brand Paprika. There is a selection of Rare accessories and bags to choose from as well, with items starting at just £2.</p>
<p>“A lot of our favourite items are included in this year’s sale,” said Deepa Kumra of Rare Fashion. “The January sales are always a time to pick up some real bargains, and at Rare we want to make sure that customers get the chance to do that.”</p>
<p>Rare has also recently unveiled its new spring/summer collections, named Parisian and Soul. The collections showcase floral patterns, horizontal stripes and block colours across a range of fabulous items including skater dresses, playsuits, <a href="http://www.rarefashion.co.uk/clothing/dresses/maxi-dresses.html" target="_blank">maxi dresses</a> bandeau dresses and more.</p>

<p>The couture collection entitled &#8220;Fantaisie Nocturne&#8221; by Andres Aquino will be shown on the runway at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday February 18, 2012 during Couture Fashion Week New York. The collection is part sophistication and part whimsical art. Sumptuous fabrics, embroideries and exquisite trimmings feature prominently in the collection. The show will be presented in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria.</p>
<p>The sculptures and illustrations of many Parisian artists serve as the inspiration for Andres Aquino&#8217;s new collection, fusing Parisian sophistication with New York City energy. &#8220;I love art, poetry, architecture, dance and history,&#8221; says Mr. Aquino. &#8220;All of these influence the components of color, romance and fun I strive to incorporate into my fashion designs. Paris has always inspired poets and artists, and New York energizes the artistic creative process.&#8221;</p>
<p>The 8:00 p.m. show on February 18 will open with the latest collection of luxury original and giclee denims and accessories by designer Princess Tarinan Von Anhalt for her Jet Art label. The highly creative presentation will be followed by the Andres Aquino evening couture collection accompanied by an array of entertainers.</p>
<p>A writer, poet, successful entrepreneur, accomplished fine art photographer and fashion designer, Andres Aquino is also the founder and producer of Couture Fashion Week in New York.
